**Finance Accountant Pain Points**: 1. Team dynamics hinder communication; conflicts arise among introverted colleagues. 2. Inefficient ERP software; mistakes in uploads require time-consuming requests for corrections. 3. Need for better training and tools; current processes lack precision and support. 4. Desire for sensitivity training and updated procurement software (cost: $45k) to improve work environment and efficiency.

Many of the people I work with are incredibly withdrawn and introverted, which comes with the territory, but also leads to some headbutting from time to time. For example, our finance director (who is a CPA) had to hold a gentle-parenting style group meeting for 30-40 something year old adults because there were intense verbal arguments about which eProcurement group to go with (we were stuck between Open.Gov and PlanetBids hahaha)

Priority level
I wouldn't quit my job over it, but it does make me dread coming into the office. I am the youngest and yet I feel as if I am working with overgrown children at times.

Value Reasoning
Much like our software and our hardware, the team I work with can be dependable for the most part. However, with age, things start to become unable to adapt and meet the standards that the new world demands of them. It would mean the world to me not to dread coming into work as well as using software that is not older than some of our senior staff.

Current process
You have to be incredibly precise. There are tools that allow you to make edits to invoices after the fact however we are simply not allowed to use them.

Flaw in current process
I simply believe I just require more precision and focus for the job than what I have available. I could definitely use some guidance from other financial professionals who have faced similar roadblocks. I am exhausted and it won't be long before it starts affecting my work.

Impact
It makes me feel less eager to ask for help. If I had to list a second painpoint it would be that our ERP software isn't the most convenient to use. If you upload a billing/invoice document that shouldn't be uploaded, you can't simply delete it on your own. You have to go request a specific individual (who, as mentioned, isn't a people person) to delete it for you. This, might I add, can take anywhere from 20 mins to an entire hour!

Attempts at solving
I've tried playing the peacemaker (because of my age and lack of experience, I am not taken seriously). At the moment, I just keep my head down and triple check every spreadsheet and invoice I upload into our system. Sometimes I can hear the file scanning in my sleep hahaha.

Ideal solution
Someone should implement sensitivity training at this office, along with better eProcurement software (I'm team OpenGov! But apparently the entire installation process would be 45k)

Introverted team members may struggle to express their opinions, leading to misunderstandings and conflicts during discussions.
Introducing new tools or approaches may face pushback from those comfortable with existing processes, especially in a traditional sector like finance.
Creating an inclusive environment for discussion can be difficult when team members are withdrawn, resulting in disengagement from key decisions.
