A Public Relations Specialist in a non-profit healthcare facility struggles with managing over 20 years of poorly organized photos for tenure events, finding the process tedious and time-consuming due to inconsistent tagging and filing. They seek affordable software that enables mass photo uploads and uses facial recognition for efficient searches, aiming to reduce their workload without exceeding a budget of $350 per year.

This may not sound huge to some folks, but to someone who creates presentations for tenure events, like service awards or retirement parties… photo management is a nightmare. The fun part for the honored individuals is being able to see all the fun memories throughout their years with the company but for the person putting this together… it’s not so fun. Sorting through 20+ years of pictures with inconsistent tagging, labeling, and filing makes a simple task never ending. I should also mention we are a non profit healthcare facility without unlimited financial resources. I feel like there should be some sort of software where you can mass upload photos and facial recognition can tag the employees (similar to Facebook). Making it easy to search and find them.

Current process
Currently I just spend tons of extra time searching for photos. I do clean the files up a bit as a go but there’s a lot.

Attempts at solving
Researched software but not finding exactly what I’m needing. Either it’s too expensive, we would exceed the storage capacity, or it’s not sophisticated enough to be helpful.

Developing software that utilizes facial recognition and efficient tagging requires advanced technical expertise.
Non-profit organizations often operate under tight budgets, limiting investment in new technologies.
Healthcare facilities must comply with strict data protection laws, making software development more complex.
Introducing new technology can meet resistance from staff accustomed to traditional methods.
