eCommerce Marketer

Managing multiple platforms to make sales, in addition to my own website, can be a headache at times. The different platforms have their own set of rules and fees you have to abide by, with some products not being allowed on them, making it difficult to keep track. When updates or changes are made on one platform, I have to manually adjust everything which takes up a large majority of my time that I could be doing something else more important to my business. It's also difficult to make an SEO optimized product listing, and sometimes, that doesn't guarantee any views in the search bar. The algorithms are all over the place. It's also difficult to keep track of all my inventory, especially when making a sale, as I have to find items because I don't have the best system in place yet. Finally, having to respond to numerous customer messages can be overwhelming.

Willing to pay for solution

It would depend on all the features included, how easy it is to use, customer support available, etc; I honestly wouldn't want to pay more that $200 a year for it. I'm only a small business, so I can't afford anything too expensive.

Current process

I keep a separate checklist for each platform, to manually update product listings and prices. Sometimes, I use spreadsheets to track changes, but it's very time consuming. I regularly manually update my product descriptions, titles, and prices. However, I don't understand how the algorithms work on each platform, which feels like a guessing game. I adjust based on how I'm performing, but that requires a lot of adjustments. I currently don't have any way to track my inventory at this time. I just search through the product myself to find it, as well as manually responding to each customer that messages me.

Flaw in current process

Doing everything manually is time-consuming and can result in errors. There's a risk that everything will be inconsistent across all the different platforms. Since I don't understand the algorithms on each platform much, it makes it hard to take advantage of sales opportunities. It also makes it harder to update my listings effectively that will make buyers find my listings. Since I have no way to automate the messages I receive from customers, I have to manually respond, which can take precious time from other important domains of running my business.

Impact

Managing multiple platforms takes up a lot of my time, between updating listings and prices, as well as having to go through all my inventory, makes it easy for me to make mistakes. In terms of SEO, I have to constantly check to see if my keywords are attractive and can do well within the algorithm, which also reduces the time in my day. There are times where I struggle to find a product that sold in my inventory, which delays shipping, and also prevents me from doing other important work within my business. When I have to constantly stop what I'm doing to respond to business inquiries, it puts a hamper on new listings, and other important developments.

Ideal solution

I feel like an all in one platform that would allow me to keep track of all the different sales channel would make the most sense. It would automatically sync to all the different sales platforms, as well as integrating inventory into this as well. If there was a way to also automate responses to customer inquiries too, it would give me a lot of extra time in my day to day business activities. Maybe it can also give me the best SEO optimized words depending on the platform I'm using.
